How to add your promo dates to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook
The calendar tool creates a standard .ics file on your device. Most calendar apps can import it. Menus change over time, so follow the wording on your screen if it differs.
Google Calendar (on a computer)
- Download the
.icsfile from the calendar tool. - Open Google Calendar, click the gear icon, and choose Settings.
- Choose Import & export, then Select file from your computer.
- Pick the file and choose which calendar to add the events to. Consider a separate calendar for promos so you can hide or delete it later.
- Click Import.
Google's own help page: Import events to Google Calendar.
Apple Calendar
Open the downloaded file. Calendar asks which calendar to add the events to. Choose one, or create a new one.
Outlook
Use File, Open & Export, Import/Export in the desktop app, or Add calendar, Upload from file in Outlook on the web.
Reminders
Tick Add a 9 AM reminder before you download if you want each event to alert you in the morning. Some apps ignore these alerts on import; you can set a default alert on the calendar instead.
Prefer a spreadsheet?
Download the .csv file and open it in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. It has the event date, the start-promoting date, the title, the idea and the draft copy.
If you re-import
Importing the same file twice can create duplicates in some apps. If you change settings, delete the earlier promo calendar first.
