Small Business Holiday and Promo Calendar

Pick your type of business and get a 12-month calendar of promotion ideas, with draft copy you can edit. Download it as a calendar file or a spreadsheet. Holiday dates are worked out for you. Nothing you type leaves your device.

1. Set up your calendar

What to include

2. Your calendar

Untick anything you don't want. Edit the draft copy if you like. These are starting points: change them to match your business, your prices and your local rules.

Good to know

  • US dates only. This covers common US federal and retail dates. Holidays that move on other calendars, and local or religious observances, are not included. Add the ones that matter to your customers.
  • Check the facts before you post. The copy has [bracket] blanks for hours, dates and details only you know. Fill them in, and only claim what is true.
  • Offers have rules. Some industries, such as health and legal, have advertising rules. Platforms like Google also have posting rules. Check the current ones.

Questions

How do I get this into Google Calendar or Apple Calendar?

Press Download calendar (.ics). In Google Calendar on a computer, open Settings, choose Import & export and select the file. On Apple devices, open the file and choose which calendar to add it to. Outlook can import .ics files too. See the step-by-step guide.

Are the holiday dates right?

They are calculated for the year you choose from standard rules, such as "the fourth Thursday of November" and the usual Easter calculation. Still, check a date that matters before you commit to it.

Is anything saved or sent?

No. Your entries stay in this browser tab. The calendar file is created on your device.
